How do you use the " Flush Bottle " (peri bottle)?

Fill the Flush Bottle with 300 ml of lukewarm water. Screw the nozzle onto the bottle and remove the clear protective cap. Sit comfortably on the toilet and hold the bottle upside down between your legs. Aim the nozzle at your vulva and perineum and gently squeeze the bottle to rinse your intimate area from front to back. Then gently pat the skin dry without rubbing.

What is a " Flush Bottle " (peri bottle)?

A flush bottle, also known as a peri bottle, rinse bottle, or postpartum bottle, is a bottle that allows you to gently clean the vulva and perineum with lukewarm water after childbirth.

The gentle stream of water helps keep your intimate area clean without having to rub against sensitive skin, stitches, an episiotomy, or a perineal tear. You can use the Peri Bottle while urinating if you experience a stinging or burning sensation, or afterward for gentle cleansing.

How long do you use a Flush Bottle after giving birth?

You can start using the Flush Bottle after your first trip to the bathroom following childbirth and continue using it as long as your intimate area remains sensitive. Many women use a peri bottle during the first few days or weeks after childbirth, for example, if they have stitches, an episiotomy, a perineal tear, or experience sensitivity when urinating.

There is no set duration of use. You can stop once cleaning with toilet paper or in the shower feels comfortable again.

How do you clean a " Flush Bottle " (peri bottle)?

Rinse the Flush Bottle and the attachment thoroughly with warm water after each use. Clean both parts regularly with a small amount of mild soap and rinse away any soap residue carefully.

Let the bottle and the attachment air dry completely separately before reassembling them or putting them away. Do not share your Peri Bottle with others.
